Tail Light

If you've ever followed one of the new Cadillac DTS sedans, you know the effectiveness of an LED (light emitting diode) tail light.  That "instant on - instant off" effect calls attention to the rear of the car in a dynamic fashion.  The effect is similar to that of the high, center mounted, brake light that was mandated by the U. S. government.  After much testing, the government found that a high, center mounted tail light significantly reduced the potential for a rear-end collision.  Drivers seemed to pay more attention to the car in front of them, and thus reduced the chance they would collide with it.
